MEET THE HAPPINESS CLUB INSTRUCTORS
Tanji has been with The Happiness Club for 19 years and has served as Artistic Director since 2008. She is also the founder of HiDef, the successful after school teen dance program. She's a mother of three, a dancer, loves Mexican food – but especially loves her Chicago youth.
JC, 28, joined The Happiness Club in 2016 as a choreographer and currently dances with the 312 Crew, the ALL-Male Chicago Bulls Dance Crew. A
former teacher at After School Matters, and former director of Hip Hop Connection in Chicago, JC received formal training at the Joffrey Ballet under Pierre Lockett, and ranked #5 in the country at Hip Hop International in 2013. His favorite movie is the Social Network, and his favorite food is tacos.
Edward is a vocal and rap coach and assists with staging. He's 29 and has been with The Happiness Club for twelve years. He wants to pursue a career in graphic design, and isn't just a rapper/singer/songwriter…he's also a chef.
Brandy, 27,joined The Happiness Club as a performer, and like Ricketa, stayed on to become an Artistic Associate. She attended Illinois State
Miles has been the Music Director of the Happiness Club since 2015. He is the producer of many of the group's songs and
Lea is a vocal instructor who joined The Happiness Club nine years ago. She's 25, enjoys playing piano and tap dancing and hopes to pursue a career as a singer and performer.
Sarah graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with her BFA in Dance. A native of Chicago and THC alumnus(2012-2014), she returned to Chicago after graduation and helping organize the J e l l o Performance Series at Links Hall, and is a volunteer dance writer for Picture This Post. Her favorite food is tacos and she loves to ride her bike around the city!
Ricketa, 23, joined The Happiness Club when she was 16 yrs. old. A fantastic dancer and rapper, she, like many
Happiness Club alumni have stayed on to become artistic associates. In addition to teaching dance at Forward Momentum , and to fourth and fifth graders at Wescott Elementary and Vixion Elementary Schools, she also attends The Happiness Club weekly rehearsals to coach rap. She was also an instructor at After School Matters. Ricketa's favorite movie is Save The Last Dance, her favorite food is fish (really?) and her hobbies are rapping and singing.

Brandy began performing at 4 yrs old as an ice skater, and continued through high school at the Southwest Ice Arena in Crestwood, where she was a member of the synchronized skating team. She has a beautiful 2 yr old daughter Raina. Her favorite TV show is Will and Grace, the original and the reboot, and her favorite food is mashed potatoes.

During the week, Miles teaches Hip Hop, Sound Engineering, and Music Theory at Lane Tech High School, where he also hosts monthly open mics and daily studio sessions to encourage his students to express themselves.
